Senior System Engineer Autonomy

Location – Hamburg, Germany

To us, Autonomous shipping is not about visions of unmanned vessels or fully automated port operations. At least not just. While everybody is out there speculating about where “Autonomy” might eventually possibly perhaps lead us, we’re taking a slightly different approach: We’re taking action and explore what we can do with autonomy today. Our big advantage on this journey: a stepwise approach. We are establishing a variety of solutions that range from “simple” decision support at one end to fully unmanned vessels on the other. With this, we don’t have to speculate about what might eventually be, but can already harness the power of “Autonomous Potential” to create benefits right here and now. For a safer, more efficient and sustainable today. And to set the foundation for a bright tomorrow.

To drive and utilise this potential we are now looking to recruit a Senior Autonomous System, Engineering & Test to join our Autonomy Engineering team in Hamburg.

Purpose of the role:

In this role you will take the role Senior System Engineer Autonomy in a team which is responsible for the system engineering, integration and virtual testing of Autonomy products.

  • Support autonomy product development, deployment and maintenance through building and maintaining system models of the products in the product line
  • Creation of function and system architectures, as well as their documentation
  • Modelling system context, use cases, behaviour
  • Simulation-based system verification and test (integrating component simulation models)
  • Deriving professional and technical requirements from customer requirements

Experience we are looking for:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant field such as Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics.
  • Professional industrial experience in (model based) systems engineering including requirements management
  • Experience with system modeling and system simulation and testing
  • Previous experience using simulation programmes such as MATLAB Simulink.
  • Previous Autonomous Engineering experience will be a strong advantage.
  • Software development expertise will be a benefit.
  • Structured, self-responsible and solution-oriented working attitude
  • Willingness to take over responsibility, distinct analytic skills and communication competence
  • Project Management skills.
