Software Testing Engineer (m/f/d)

 

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Testing Engineer in Radar Team to support software product testing and the development of marine navigation systems. This role focuses on testing a desktop application used for professional maritime radar navigation. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of software testing processes and an interest in improving desktop-based navigation tools.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional, acceptance, regression, and exploratory testing of a desktop-based marine navigation application, including radar functionality.
  • Ensure product quality through structured test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Identify defects, propose improvements, and support innovation in radar and navigation products.
  • Create and maintain detailed product specifications and test documentation.
  • Participate in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX designers, developers, and other engineering teams.

 

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, acceptance, regression, negative testing, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with manual software testing, preferably of desktop applications.
  • English language proficiency at B1/B2 level (written & verbal).
  • Knowledge of marine navigation systems—especially radar—is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to identify defects and propose actionable improvements.
  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

 

 

Will be a plus:

  • ISTQB Foundation Level or higher certification.
  • Experience with test automation in Python (e.g., for UI or system-level automation).
  • Experience in testing maritime or navigation applications (ECDIS, AIS etc.).
  • Seafaring experience or strong familiarity with maritime operational environments.
  • Participation in SAFe teams or large-scale Agile programs.
