Tax Controller (m/f/d)


We are now looking for a Tax Controller to join our Accounting & Finance team. The position is permanent and the preferred location is in Hamburg, Germany.


As Tax Controller, your work will focus on these responsibilities:


  • Provide clarification of tax issues by relevant literature and in cooperation with external tax advisors and group tax team
  • Contract management in regard of tax matters and risks
  • Filing income tax and VAT returns
  • Responsible for local Tax Group and foreign branch reporting
  • Calculation of deferred taxes and tax provisions
  • Project taxation (direct and indirect tax)
  • Preparation of the transfer pricing local file for the local company and the foreign permanent establishments.
  • Participation in legal entity restructure cases, German tax transformation act knowledge required


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:


  • Certified tax advisor (CPA/CIMA)
  • Demonstratable knowledge of tax laws and principles
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Team player who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results
  • High integrity, with an aptitude for building trustful, effective and collaborative relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders
  • Be an effective sparing partner for the business coupled with effective questioning and listening techniques
  • Appreciation of cultural differences, working across a Global market
  • Competent using SAP and Excel to manage financial accounts
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal
  • You will have an advantage if you have had exposure to acquisitions and demergers
