Tax Manager (m/f/d)

Wärtsilä entities in Germany are looking for a Tax Manager (m/f/d) as part of Financial Statutory Accounting Services (FSAS), Finland, Italy, Central & West Europe organisation. FSAS DE team is responsible for high standard statutory accounting services and fulfilling legal requirements on legal entity level, including Taxation.


The location is in Hamburg, Germany. 

As Tax Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:


  • Responsible for Corporate Income Taxation:
    • Tax Group in Germany
    • Preparation and filing of CIT returns
    • Tax planning
  • Responsible for Permanent Establishments / Branch tax reporting
  • Clarification of both domestic and foreign tax issues in cooperation with Wärtsilä Group Tax team and external tax advisors
  • Domestic and foreign VAT procedures and other indirect taxation
    • Advising and reporting 
    • Ensuring compliance in business operations
  • Tax risks and tax provisions
  • Calculation of deferred taxes, according to IFRS
  • Project taxation (direct and indirect tax)
  • Preparation of the transfer pricing local file for the local company and the foreign permanent establishments


An ideal candidate for the role will have: 


  • Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Taxes and Accounting or Certified Tax Advisor.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in taxation (inhouse or consultant) 
  • Good ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing and good general communication skills.
  • Development oriented working approach to ensure continuous development 
  • Good team working skill and positive attitude and pro-active thinking, initiative taking and flexible approach.
  • Good command in German and English language, as the contacts to local authorities plus global contacts are daily.


Additionally, the following experience are considered a plus:


  • Knowledge and experience in Finance and Control.
  • ERP, especially SAP skills are an advantage
