Technical Support Engineer

Technical Support Engineer (m/f/d)

 

to join our team working for a better future. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Hamburg, Germany.

 

What you will be doing 

 

As a Technical Support Engineer you
 

  • ensure customer satisfaction by providing high quality and on-time support enabled by world-class competences in Navigation, Communication or Automation equipment.
  • are primarily responsible for handling Technical Requests received from external and internal customers. 
  • provide support for installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance & repair activities worldwide.
  • provide input for the product improvement process.
  • you participate/perform in Root Cause Analysis and perform expert technical investigations and screening of field service reporting.
  • participate/contribute in product development activities.
  • provide remote diagnosis of the problem and definition of further steps to be taken to further isolate or remedy the problem
  • communicate in a service-oriented way to the customer and, if necessary, to other departments. Where troubleshooting requires it, e.g. Requesting a service technician for on-site diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • support service order handlers/coordinators, service partners, field service technicians with technical information, documentation and knowledge.
  • Keep track of issues in our ticket system.

 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have: 

 

  • A degree in electrical engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of working experience in a technical design, maintenance or operator environment. Relevant experience with operations and/or installation and maintenance of marine equipment is a strong plus.
  • Experience with engineering or field service on Navigation, Communication or Automation equipment is a huge advantage.
  • A true team player with a proactive approach and technical reporting skills.
  • You are a strong communicator with good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Customer focused and service minded attitude. 
  • Good communication skills and good command of the English language (both written and verbal).

 

As an ideal candidate you might also have… 

 

  • Understanding of Salesforce, SAP and Microsoft Office
  • An urge to develop yourself thru our trainings program
