We are now looking for a Propulsion Superintendent to join our team in the USA.
What you will be doing:
As a Propulsion Superintendent Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex field service assignments, ensuring technical excellence, and supporting both customers and internal teams. Your role will encompass troubleshooting, repairs, supervision, reporting, and driving continuous improvement.
You will focus on these responsibilities:
- Carry out complex field service work activities related to propulsion equipment, including repair and maintenance tasks.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting on site to isolate problems and determine root causes of failures in propulsion mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
- Lead and manage yourself and/or a team while on site, coordinating with the customer to ensure proper scheduling and execution of the agreed scope.
- Maintain detailed documentation and provide comprehensive technical reports, including measurements, photos, investigations, and descriptions of work performed.
- Perform internal and external progress reporting on the status of assigned work.
- Ensure that all activities are executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and in alignment with customer site procedures.
- Track and report working hours, spare parts usage, and other job‑related resources.
- Proactively advise customers on available products, upgrades, and service solutions.
- Provide internal and external reporting according to Wärtsilä standards and perform site audits as required.
- Execute additional duties that may arise due to changing operational needs, provided they remain aligned with the general scope and level of responsibility of the role.

Travel Requirements:
This position requires a 75% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international locations, including onshore and offshore sites. The role demands adaptability to varying travel requirements, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.
