We are looking for a Workshop Service Technician to join our dynamic, fast-paced Workshop team at our Harvey LA location.

What will you be doing

As a Workshop Service Technician, you will be performing repairs and overhauls on engine equipment and their components.

As a Workshop Service Technician, you will focus on these responsibilities:

• Perform and ensure repairs / overhauls on engine equipment/components according to given instructions as well as quality, health, safety, environmental guidelines, and cost targets.
• Perform measurement and record the data on the relevant measurement records document.
• Prepare service reports using SWR tool on time and with expected Wartsila quality.
• Performing preventive maintenance on all workshop machinery.
• Maintain measurement tools and workshop tools.
• Gather technical information from TKB by accessing technical bulletins and operational / overhaul instruction from product manual.
• Access parts catalogue to find out parts required that needs to be ordered to support overhauling or repair of the component / equipment.
• Experience in handling tools like valve grinding machine, seat cutting machines, honing machine etc is must.
• Keeping work area clean and organized.

In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties within their capabilities which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

• Experience in a similar role within the marine industry would be advantageous.
• Good communication skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• A proactive individual who is not afraid to get stuck in.
• Good time management and organizational skills - able to effectively manage a dynamic workload.
• Able work effectively and efficiently independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.

• Climbing / Balance
