About QuantiParts:
QuantiParts changes the game for trading OEM spare parts for mature Wärtsilä engine brands. We serve the engine Brands; Stork Werkspoor Diesel, Deutz, Deutz MWM, Bolnes, Sulzer A/S 4 stroke, SACM, Poyaud, Crepelle, Wichmann, Nohab and Vasa and have all the parts new, remanufactured or pre-owned to keep them operating. The company is based in Hattem, the Netherlands, where its spare parts are traded from. The company’s stock consists of over 5 million components for more than 45 different engine types.
We provide 24-7 parts services and support with the best technical know-how available. We strive for Cost-efficient solutions, immediate response and the right spare parts delivered on time! We are here for you and your engine. QuantiParts employs about 70 people in Hattem and in France. All our employees bring with them the Wärtsilä legacy and extensive technical know-how in order to serve customers worldwide.
We are now looking for a
Sales Engineer Africa
to join our team. The position is permanent and the preferred location for the position is in Hattem, The Netherlands.
What you will be doing
As a Sales Engineer at QuantiParts (a Wärtsilä company), it is your main goal to process and coordinate all customer order requests related to spare parts and technical support on their classic engines. Your main responsibility is to prepare and handle spare parts quotations and orders in our ERP system and actively guide the logistics and transport of all technical parts towards our Maritime and Energy customers in Africa. You are continuously looking for ways to improve the customer satisfaction and the most accurate and efficient way to service our customers. You have the responsibility for your own group of customers and prospects. In this dynamic position you are continuously in contact with customers, network companies, distributors and several QuantiParts and Wärtsilä colleagues to follow up the business and opportunities in the field. You will become part of a team consisting of multiple Sales Engineers and Sales Support Specialists at our office in Hattem.
As Sales Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Sales & Order Management: Use SAP to manage spare parts orders, quotations, and (field) service projects for our customers, network companies, and distributors.
- Customer Interaction: Translate customer inquiries into technical solutions, offering the right products to meet their needs.
- Order Tracking: Proactively follow up on orders, address back orders and claims, and ensure smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Accuracy & Efficiency: Maintain accurate customer data and installed base records while striving to enhance customer satisfaction through continuous process improvements.
- Training & Development: Stay updated with new technical and sales training to enhance your expertise and product knowledge.
- Profitability Focus: Monitor the sales margin and profitability of your orders.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A passion for the African continent and knowledge how to deal with the different countries.
- A vocational degree or equivalent experience in a technical services environment.
- A customer-centric mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong communication skills in Dutch (B2) and English, with French as a bonus.
- Teamwork skills and an entrepreneurial spirit to contribute to a dynamic environment.
- Experience with ERP (SAP) and CRM software is a plus.
- A passion or interest in marine engines or rotating equipment is a big advantage.
- Willingness to travel (once or twice a year).
