We are currently looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team in Hattem, the Netherlands. This is a permanent position.
At QuantiParts (a Wärtsilä company), we are specialized in the supply of spare parts for diesel and gas engines used in seagoing vessels and land-based power plants worldwide. Our solutions support customers in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing engine systems across the marine and energy sectors.
As a Sales Engineer, your main task is to process and coordinate customer requests related to spare parts and technical support for installed engines. You will prepare and process quotations, manage orders in our ERP system, and ensure the smooth delivery of parts to customers around the world. You play a key role in keeping operations running for our customers by delivering accurate and timely solutions.
You will be responsible for your own group of customers and prospects. In this dynamic role, you will be in continuous contact with customers, network companies, local offices distributors, and colleagues across QuantiParts and Wärtsilä to follow up on opportunities and ongoing business. You will be part of the regional Americas team of Sales Engineers and Sales Support Specialists based in Hattem.
Your main responsibilities:
- Actively sell spare parts and (field) service solutions to customers, network companies, local offices, and distributors
- Translate customer requests into technical specifications and accurate product selections
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, orders, back orders, and claims
- Coordinate logistics and ensure timely delivery of spare parts worldwide
- Maintain close communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Support customer visits
- Ensure accuracy of the installed base information for your customers
- Monitor profitability and margins within your orders
To be successful in this role, you have:
- Few years of experience in a technical or service-oriented environment, preferable, marine or energy sector.
- A customer-focused and service-oriented mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Fluency in English is required; Dutch is preferred. Spanish, is a strong advantage.
- Strong teamwork skills combined with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and CRM tools
- Interest in engines, rotating equipment, or the marine/energy industry is a strong plus
- Participate in product and technical training to continuously build your knowledge
In this role, occasional travel is required.
