Marine Design Engineer

The Engineering team is currently seeking proven Design Engineers to join them on a 24 month fixed term contract to support the delivery of a key project. The successful candidates will be working on the development of all shaft seal and bearing types and will be a key team member in ensuring effective product design.


The role will be based out of our office in Havant, Hampshire United Kingdom.


What are your main tasks and responsibilities?


  • Communicate provide effecfive solutions for the quotation, supply and operation of seals and bearing products within selected markets.
  • Produce manufacturing and purchasing technical specifications, such as detailed drawings and itemised component lists.
  • Create and control technical support information to support the seals and bearing product portfolio.
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure the project tasks are appropriately allocated and supported in line with the Seals & Bearings local process and procedures.
  • Support in effective analysis of operational processes and procedure to ensure effective delivery in line with project timescales whilst also delivering high quality designs.
  • Key support to intercompany account and end users as required on a national and international basis in order to fulfil support requirements.
  • Support in the reduction of operating costs by effective combination of quality designs and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance is maintained in line with ISO standards and correct health and safety practise and obligations are adhered to.


What do we expect from you?


  • A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification.
  • A strong technical background within Mechanical Engineering.
  • Background within the design of stern tube seals and bearings and associated line shaft equipment and systems is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communicator with internal and external customers.
  • Sound analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a structure and methodical approach to work tasks.
  • An effective team player.
  • Knowledge of the Marine industry is desired.
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written.
  • The role will require international travel, therefore you must hold a valid passport and be eligible to work within the UK.
  • This role requires base line secuirty clearance, therefore you must be able to demonstrate that you have lived within the UK for the last 4 years.
