Facilities and CNC Maintenance Engineer

The position is permanent, and the preferred location is in Havant, Portsmouth  

 

What you will be doing

 

Hands on management of the facilities, infrastructure and assets of the WDSL business through effective employment of your own skills and a network of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure highest levels of availability are achievable in a safe, cost effective and world class manner.

Work in accordance with WDSL’s goals and targets, and legislative/ statutory requirements and coordinates activities to meet objectives set for the area of responsibility.

To undertake any activity deemed reasonable and appropriate for this position.

 

As Facilities and CNC Maintenance Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for helping to improve and maintain the availability of all CNC and Manual machinery, plant and infrastructure at all WDSL facilities through a programme of Preventative Maintenance.
  • To implement current HSE legislation including certification, monitoring and inspection in areas of responsibility.
  • To assist in the maintenance of the building security of all WDSL facilities.
  • To ensure the availability of facilities, equipment and machinery to maximise productivity of the business.
  • To be actively be involved with the delivery of projects relating to facilities to schedule, cost and agreed requirements.
  • Proactively be involved in the safe and effective day to day maintenance activities at all Wartsila Defence facilities.
  • Be responsible for the availability of all machinery, plant and infrastructure at all Wartsila Defence facilities through a programme of Preventative Maintenance.
  • Responsible for maintaining, improving and reporting of an appropriate suite of industrial recognised ‘Key Performance Indicators’

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • Minimum 7 - 10 years’ experience in a maintenance / facilities management environment.
  • Experienced in preventative (and reactive) maintenance of manual and CNC machining centres is a essential.
  • Hands on experience of Hydraulics /Pneumatics /Electrics /Mechanical is advantageous.
  • Proven experience of working within large and complex projects.
  • Proven teamwork and lone working experience.
  • PC Literate (Microsoft) and Complex Maintenance Programmes.  SAP experience is desirable.
