Field Service Coordinator SLS West Europe

In this newly established global position you will become part of Wärtsilä Shaft Line Repair Services (SLRS), the organisation responsible for services delivered by Wärtsilä Shaft Line Solutions (SLS).


A growing organisation within SLS and critical to strategy, SLRS includes ca. 125 dedicated professionals located all around the world. As FS Coordinator you will be the focal point with customers and internal stakeholders in the delivery of Field Service (FS) for SLS. You will be part of a team managing the daily activities and schedules of around 20 engineers located in West Europe.


In this position you will be reporting to the FS Manager and you will be located in the Havant, UK.

What will you be doing?


As a Field Service Coordinator (SLS) your key priorities will be:

  • Order-intake
  • Net Sales
  • EBIT for SLS



Your work will focus on these responsibilities:


  • Receive and process field service enquiries; identify service requirements, schedules and locations
  • Plan activities, resources, spare parts, costs and time schedules for work orders
  • Manage diaries and coordinate field service personnel; matching available skills to jobs
  • Liaise with customers to coordinate requirements and formalize service bookings
  • Coordinate personnel when they are assigned on a work order
  • Act as "point of contact" for the customer during the work order
  • Raise internal and external orders for service provisions
  • Collect costs, prepare invoices, time sheet and administer pay for service personnel
  • Service follow-up; ensure customer satisfaction, obtain feedback and maintain service record files
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to QSHE guidelines and site procedures and policies
  • Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customer and/or internal stakeholders
  • Continuously seek for solutions in according to best practises.



The below will enable you to shine in this role:


  • Technical education or equivalent qualifications as a combination of education and experience
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role with responsibility for collation of costs and invoices
  • A working knowledge of bookkeeping and commercial administration processes
  • A safety-first attitude and a goal-oriented mindset
  • Passion for developing SLS E2E-business to the next level
  • Great time management and organisation skills - able to effectively manage and re-plan a dynamic workload
  • Demonstrable team leadership, team empowerment and team building skills, coaching and developing others to create a high performing team.
  • Team player who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results
  • Well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills, with a track record in building great customer relationships that enhance customer experience
  • Appreciation of cultural differences and sensitivities, working across a Global market
  • Proficiency with standard MS tools and experience with SAP would be an advantage
  • Fluent in English with relevant additional language skills beneficial
  • Willingness to travel, as and when required
