Finance Analyst

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Finance Analyst to join our team on a permanent basis, located at our office in Havant, UK.

What will you be doing?


There are two key purposes of this role.


Firstly, to compile, track and interrogate the business line reporting throughout the month to avoid surprises. You will challenge the status quo and provide the business with meaningful analysis to support the business management function. This will include providing forecast information based on results for monthly, quarterly and annual submissions.


Secondly, to provide reports, forecasts and analyses of financial information to support WDSL business, in compliance with national and corporate regulations & guidelines.


As a Finance Analyst your work will focus on these responsibilities:
•    Collate the business line monthly report with full analysis of variances and assist on legal entity reporting as required
•    Track business line reporting throughout the month to be able to predict where the variances to forecasts are before closing
•    Challenge the costs and status quo with a view of improving processes, profitability and transparency
•    Maintain financial controls within the business
•    Support business KPI reporting in financial terms fully reconciled back to the P&L
•    Compile forecasts, monthly, quarterly and annually
•    Work with the wider Wartsila business to ensure that systematic changes are adhered too
•    Be a business partner supporting initiatives throughout the business
•    Identify any potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures
•    Instill, promote and maintain working relationships with all levels of management and employees


The below will enable you to shine in this role:
•    Financial knowledge (CIMA part qualified or equivalent qualified by experience)
•    Awareness of cost and effectiveness, and the impact you can have on this
•    A results-oriented mindset, comfortable with reporting and analysing results against targets
•    Customer focused and business development attitude 
•    Self-starter who motivates and drives change 
•    Demonstrable ability to collaborate with, challenge and influence senior colleagues
•    High attention to detail with a methodical & practical approach to solving problems and making decisions
•    Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally
•    Appreciate the value of teamwork and thrive in both an individual and a team environment
•    The job is offered subject to successfully obtaining security clearance
