We are now looking for a 

 

CNC Machinist

 

To join our team working for a better future, The machine shop operates across 5 cells producing seal and bearings for the marine sector and various Navies around the globe.

 

The position is permanent, and the preferred location is Havant, UK.

 

As the CNC Machinist, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Working on a variety of CNC and manual turning and milling machines in Engineering Workshop with minimal Supervision.
  • Working to Engineering drawings and following any relevant processes.
  • Willingness to learn/work other machines to form cross-functional multi skilled team, working duties can change to suit production demand. 
  • Using a variety of measuring equipment to verify product conformance. 
  • Working as part of a team and reporting to the Supervisor. 
  • Adhere to routed time on production document. Highlight when time has not been met and offer suggestions for improvements.
  • To play an active part in the pursuance of continuous improvement relating to the methods and processes employed
  • Be personally aware of and abide by the company's Health and Safety policies and practices
  • Undertake development as and when required for the position
  • Maintain safe working practises for self and others in accordance with the Company's policy on Health and Safety.
  • Ensure best practices are adhered to remove opportunity for non-conformance.
  • Identify and highlight non-conformance immediately to supervisor and support quality staff in rectification/corrective actions. 
  • Other activities as required by management
  • Work overtime hours beyond normal working hours, if required, to meet production targets.

 

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

HNC/HND or apprenticeship – In a relevant subject

CNC metalwork machining – Mazatrol (Mazak) preferred

Manual/conventional machining – metalwork

Background in mechanical engineering
