IT Support Administrator

Wärtsilä Defence Solutions Ltd, WDSL, is part of the wider Wärtsilä Marine Business, which focuses on enhancing the business of its marine and oil & gas industry customers by providing innovation products and integrated solutions that are safe, environmentally sustainable, efficient, flexible and economically sound.

We are now seeking an

 

IT Support Administrator 

 

to assist the IT Manager with the day to day running of our IT systems, providing support and assistance to users whilst liaising with the service provider for support.

 

The successful candidate will be employed on a 12 month contract and will be based out of our office in Havant, Hampshire United Kingdom.

 

What you will be doing 

 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities? 

 

  • Onsite user support.
  • Software installations.
  • PC's, laptops and mobile device configuration and deployment.
  • Licence management.
  • Security configurations.
  • System update management.
  • Network and system monitoring.
  • Domain administration of users and groups.
  • Telephony administration and configuration.
  • IT asset management.
  • System/infrastructure documentation.
  • Change control.
  • Co-ordinate issues with 2nd and 3rd Level support.
  • Support & participate in operational development projects.
     

What do we expect from you?

 

  • A background in IT support.
  • Exposure within the marine industry would be an advantage. 
  • Excellent communicator with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • A strong team player with the ability and willingness to also work independently in a systematic and structured way.
  • Ability to take responsibility for your work and take the initiative to secure the completion of your tasks.
  • Displays logical sound judgement and maintains the highest ethical standards
  • Motivated and positive attitude to identify practical solutions
  • Diplomatic in approach to dealing with users across varied functions
  • The job is offered subject to successfully obtaining security clearance. Any applicants must hold a British Passport or be eligible to hold one and have resided in the UK continuously for the last 5 years.
