IT Support Administrator
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Administrator to provide first- and second-line technical support and ensure the efficient operation of IT systems. The role involves user support, systems administration, cybersecurity compliance, and coordination with external service providers.
The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience with Microsoft and cloud environments, and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and security best practices.
This role will be based in Hvant, Portsmouth and is a 12 month FTC.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote IT support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Administer Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and Group Policy.
- Configure and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot business applications and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Manage Azure environments and cloud-based services.
- Monitor and maintain IT systems, networks, and infrastructure performance.
- Implement security controls including MFA, endpoint protection, patching, and encryption
- Support compliance frameworks such as Cyber Essentials / ISO 27001 (advantage).
- Maintain IT asset inventory, licenses, and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and external vendors.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Document IT processes, SOPs, and system configurations.
- Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
Preferred/Advantage
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+)
- Experience working with MSPs or outsourced IT environments
