Logistics Operative

Wärtsilä Seals and Bearings has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Operative to join the logistcis team at our site in Havant, Hampshire UK. As a Logistics Operative you will be responsible for the management of materials and products from goods in/out, to assembly, packing and stores and will be embedded within a dynamic team of dedicated colleagues.


What are your main tasks and responsibilities:
 

  •  Work between Assembly/Rubber/Packing/Stores operations, driven by business demand/requirements.
  • Assembly/Rubber duties require the assembling and testing of seals to drawing specification, cut/bond rubber parts.
  • Packing duties require checking complete order is all available/correct to parts list of drawing, labelling and following procedures of packing requirements for dispatching of order.
  • Stores duties require picking of order and ensuring available/delivered on time at the operation level required, palletising and storing to correct procedure. Load/unload deliveries.
  • Any other duties that may be required.
  • Communicate with all ops teams to ensure proactive actions are taken to meet OTIF.
  •  Continuous improvement relating to process and procedures.
  • All duties carried out to be done in a safe manner following H&S safety procedures.

 

What do we expect from you?

  • Background within manufacturing environments is desireable but not essential.
  • Comply with health & safety environment/procedures and understand implications of non-conformance.
  • Aptitude to read and understand drawings is desireable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Previous exposure in a similar roles is desireable.
  • Strong communicator with both internal and external customers.
  • Flexibility to work across Logistics Operations teams.
  • The job is offered subject to successly obtaining security clearance. Any applicants must hold a British Passport or be eligible to hold one and have resided in the UK continuously for the last 5 years
