Manufacturing Engineer (32658)
Due to growth in the department, Wartsila Defence Solutions Limited in Havant are looking for a manufacturing engineer.
What are your main tasks and responsibilities?
- Analyse and develop manufacturing methods, tools, systems and facilities.
- Prepare recommendations about changes that need to be made to manufacturing resources, procedures, facilities, systems and technology.
- Implement the new manufacturing technologies and methods.
- Liaison with other Engineering departments to implement best practice regarding Design for Manufacture (DFM) and inventory recognition.
- Act as a technical expert in manufacturing development daily activities and projects.
- Create and maintain required manufacturing documentations.
- Create and maintain CADCAM programs / verification and simulation using Edgecam & Vericut. Support a Continuous Improvement Plan within Manufacturing by developing and implementing new leaner programs, processes/methods, cost reduction initiatives and improving current operations.
- Root Cause Analysis of operational/technical issues and associated problem resolution.
- Any other reasonable request by management, in line with role and position.
What do we expect from you?
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work with CAD
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Detailed knowledge of quality standards.
- Proven background in understanding manufacturing processes, ideally with exposure to CADCAM.
- Experience/knowledge of programming in ISO/EIA, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol Matrix.
- Running of Mazak machines
- Continuous improvement knowledge.
- BOM experience
- Clear communicator.
- Understanding of the Marine industry is desired but not essential.
- Fluent in English, verbal and written.
You must be eligible to undertake and pass a BPSS baseline security clearance as a key requirement for this role.
