Project Controller
Job Title: Project Controller
As a Project Controller you will be part of our Project team which takes care of all new construction, modification, maintenance or repair projects for our Defence clients. The projects can vary in value between €200,000 to €20 million and are carried out all over the world.
We execute a wide diversity of projects concerning the engineering, assembly, supply and installation and commissioning of shaft line systems & components. In this position you will be the central point of contact for all projects that are assigned to you. Depending on size and complexity multiple projects are assigned to you and so you are working in multiple disciplinary project teams at the time.
Due to your effort, customers, suppliers, and internal colleagues (Engineers, Customer Service, Procurement, Quality, workshops etc), know what is expected from them and what is the latest status of the project. You know how to manage your projects within budget and planning taking in consideration resources, quality, and safety.
Due to our worldwide projects, you will be in contact with people from different nationalities, languages, and cultures. You may be required to travel internationally occasionally. The location for this position is from our Havant office however our clients are truly global.
What we expect the ideal candidate to demonstrate?
- Preferably 2 to 3 years' experience in a comparable position.
- You function well in a team and have a customer orientated attitude.
- Independent and enterprising.
- Good communications and administrative skills.
- Open attitude and accessible in communication.
- Knowledge of project management, planning techniques and the SAP project module is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the maritime industry is an advantage.
- Coordinates preparation of contract change proposals by functional departments and assures that contract change proposals are correctly written
- Monitors and reports project progress to project manager.
- Establish a schedule for invoicing customers. Updates, expands, submits, and coordinates project schedules to meet contract requirements.
What are your main tasks and responsibilities?
- You are responsible for the realisation and follow up on your part of the project, together with the Project Manager.
- Follow-up on agreements made with Project Management of the various production locations, Service workshops, engineering departments, Purchasing, Suppliers and Field Service.
- You are responsible for the administration required in project management tools including, planning, cost forecasting, resource management and project reporting.
- You take care of execution of the planning, from customer service, master data, engineering, to receipt of the parts lists, materials routing and manufacturing information, through production in our factories up to and including execution of installation and commissioning.
What do we expect from you?
- Knowledge of project management, planning techniques and SAP processes is an advantage.
- Since you will be working with many different colleagues and stakeholders, you know how to cooperate, work as a team and how to communicate with different nationalities.
- Independent and enterprising attitude.
- General technical and functional knowledge in the engineering environment.
