Purpose of the Role:
To ensure the efficient and accurate handling, storage, and movement of materials, components, and finished goods within the Stores department. The role supports production, engineering, and project teams by maintaining inventory integrity and ensuring timely availability of stock.
Key Responsibilities:
· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders.
· Record and label stock accurately in the system.
· Report discrepancies or damaged goods promptly.
· Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP/SAP systems.
· Conduct regular cycle counts.
· Monitor stock levels and notify shortages or excesses.
· Pick and issue materials to production and engineering teams.
· Prepare goods for despatch to subcontractors.
· Operate forklifts and other handling equipment safely (training provided if required).
· Coordinate stock movement between multiple sites.
· Assist with offsite collections and deliveries as needed.
· Support project-specific material requirements.
· Adhere to company health and safety policies.
· Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
· Ensure compliance with quality and audit standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
· Previous experience in a Stores, Warehouse, or Logistics role (preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment).
· Familiarity with stock control systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
· Good organisational and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Forklift licence (desirable but not essential, training will be given).
· Basic IT skills (Excel, Outlook, ERP systems).
· Driving licence required. (also 3.5-ton capabilities would also be beneficial).
