Business Analyst

We are now seeking for a Business Analyst to join our growing Customer Analytics team in Wärtsilä Voyage. We are part of a Customer Success organisation where Customer Engagement is increasingly important to improve customer satisfaction and build long lasting business relationships. Customer Analytics helps the customer to achieve energy savings and improve their fleet operations through delivering unique insight into vessel performance, based on real-time data collected from ships around the world and advanced analytics.


This is a position for you, if you are passionate about improving the way vessel operational data, analytics and insights is managed in Customer Analytics. 
Using data to generate tangible business impact, support decision making and build customer engagement. We provide an international front-row seat to digital transformation of traditional maritime industry. You will be a part of an experienced team tackling real-life challenges related to big data and analytics.

 

The position is permanent and located in Helsinki, Finland with hybrid remote work possibilities.

 

As a Business Analyst in Customer Analytics, your main responsibility is to:

  • Standardize, productize, scale and maintain existing analytics services
  • Craft and develop new analytics services based on key customers’ needs
  • Perform one off analysis based on collected customer data
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure high customer satisfaction and value delivered
  • Effective presentation and communication of analytics solutions to the customer

 
In order to be successful in this role, you need to have:

  • At least M.Sc. degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, information technology or engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong Experience in Python programming
  • Excellent team work as well as communication skills
  • Experience in Technical Analytics Design i.e. Analytics Architecture
  • Experience in data analysis and data visualization
  • Experience in working with big amounts of numerical data
  • Customer-centric mindset
  • Fluency in English language

 

We also value previous experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Tableau or similar visualization tool
  • Shipping/Maritime industry
  • Programming skills in relevant data analysis languages (R and Matlab)
  • Good presentation skills
