We are looking for a Controller, FX Hedging to join our Energy Global Business Support function. In this role, your main responsibility will be to support effective foreign exchange risk management, hedge accounting, and financial reporting across the Energy business. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland, but other locations can also be considered. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Controller, FX Hedging, you will provide expert guidance on foreign exchange risk management, hedging principles, hedge accounting, and related financial matters. You will work as a proactive and commercially minded business partner, supporting decision-making through high-quality financial insights and a fact-based approach.
You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the Energy business and Group Treasury to ensure effective FX exposure management, high-quality financial reporting, and efficient ways of working. In this position, you will report to the Team Lead, FX Hedging.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Advising and training Energy business stakeholders on FX exposure management, hedging principles, hedge accounting, and related financial matters
- Supporting Sales, Project Management, Operations, Purchasing, Legal, and Subcontracting functions in managing foreign exchange risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Managing FX hedging transactions in cooperation with Group Treasury and in accordance with applicable policies and internal guidelines
- Monitoring, analysing, and reporting foreign currency positions and financial exposures
- Ensuring IFRS-compliant hedge accounting, including effectiveness testing, documentation, reconciliations, and internal and external reporting
- Preparing receivables reports, financial analyses, and management reporting to support cash flow management and business decision-making
- Developing hedging practices, financial controls, reporting methodologies, FX-related tools, and ways of working
- Participating in relevant development projects and maintaining effective collaboration with internal stakeholders
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another relevant field
- At least three years of relevant experience in FX hedging and hedge accounting
- Solid understanding of treasury-related activities, relevant accounting principles, and IFRS 9
- Strong business and financial understanding, combined with an analytical and forward-looking mindset
- Ability to work proactively and independently, challenge conventional thinking, and take a fact-based approach
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a matrix organisation, including the ability to translate financial data into clear insights
- Understanding of contractual concepts and legal terminology
- Proficiency in SAP, reporting tools, CRM, and integrated information systems, together with an interest in RPA and AI
- Fluency in written and spoken English
