We are looking for a Data Engineer with a main responsibility in fitting and maintaining our data-driven vessel models, optimizing vessel operations. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Data Engineer your work will include:
- Configuring, validating and deploying statistical models developed by Voyage data scientists
- Debugging and solving production service issues
- Improving our automatic data processing machinery
You would be doing this work as a part of a team that consists of software and data engineers, and owns various services written mainly in Python. In addition to the listed main responsibilities, you can also focus on other aspects of the team’s work based on your individual skills and interests.
Requirements for the position:
- An analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
- The ability to learn a set of in-house developed tools and techniques
- Basic knowledge of statistical models and the Python programming language
- Good command of both written and spoken English
We consider it as a plus if you:
- Are skilled in
- Dealing with time-series data
- Scientific Python ecosystem
- Data pipelines
- Data monitoring
- Understand the maritime business
- Are familiar with some part of maritime technology
- Are an open-source contributor
