Development Manager, Offering & Digital Capabilities

Business Performance Development function within Parts & Field Service Business unit is responsible for improving end-to-end business processes and digital capabilities that support our global sales and service operations. We identify improvement opportunities, challenge existing ways of working, and build scalable solutions together with business stakeholders and technology teams. We utilize Operational Excellence, Service Design and Agile methodologies to continuously improve performance, employee experience and customer value.
Over the past years, we have successfully delivered major digital transformation milestones and established critical business capabilities that support our global operations. Our journey, however, is far from complete. We are now entering the next phase, connecting processes and systems more seamlessly across the value stream, strengthening adoption and creating an even better experience for both customers and employees.
We are now looking for a Development Manager, Offering & Digital Capabilities to join our Business Performance Development team and play a key role in shaping the future of offering, sales and service capabilities.
The Opportunity
This dynamic role combines Product Ownership, business capability development and stakeholder collaboration. We are looking for a person who can connect business needs, operational processes, data and digital solutions into meaningful business outcomes. You will help ensure that development initiatives create measurable value for the business while supporting Wärtsilä’s broader digital transformation journey.
Initially, your focus will be on owning and developing the Transactional Scope Configurator capability and supporting the evolution of digital capabilities used throughout the offering, quotation and service lifecycle.
Success in this role comes from working collaboratively with business stakeholders, peers and development teams to turn ideas into adopted solutions and measurable business value.
In This Role You Will:
Contribute to Digital Business Transformation

Own and maintain the roadmap for assigned business capabilities and applications, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives

Collaborate closely with peers, process owners, architects and business stakeholders to ensure development activities support shared goals

Identify improvement opportunities and proactively initiate development activities that create business value

Balance immediate business needs with long-term development objectives
Lead Product Ownership and Development

Act as Product Owner for assigned business applications and capabilities

Define, prioritize and maintain product roadmap and backlog

Translate business requirements and strategic objectives into actionable development initiatives

Collaborate closely with architects, developers and business stakeholders throughout the development cycle

Ensure development activities move from idea to implementation in a structured and effective manner
Enable Performance Monitoring and Business Value Realization

Define success measures and expected outcomes for new capabilities and improvements

Ensure required data, reports and dashboards are available to monitor utilization, performance and business impact.
Build Partnerships Across Wärtsilä

Develop strong relationships with stakeholders across business, operations and technology functions

Facilitate alignment between diverse stakeholder groups and competing priorities

Engage continuously with end users to understand needs and validate solutions

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

Experience in digital transformation, business development, process development, product ownership or a similar role.

Understanding of how business processes, data and digital solutions work together to create business value.

Experience working with Agile development methodologies and collaborating with development teams.

Ability to translate business needs into practical development solutions and roadmaps.

Strong stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.

Strong problem solving skills

Experience with Salesforce.com and enterprise business applications is considered an advantage.

Experience with customer-facing business processes, such as offering, sales or service operations is considered beneficial.
