Development Manager

Business Performance Development function within Marine Parts & Field Service (P&FS) business unit is responsible for driving operational improvements of end-to-end value chain (from sales to delivery), securing customer value creation and optimal operational efficiency. We constantly analyse our processes to find improvement opportunities, reduce waste, and develop fit-for-purpose solutions in partnership with our IT organisation.

 

We are now looking for a motivated, results-driven and experienced Development Manager to strengthen our Sales & Demand Process Development team which has embarked on an exciting journey of transforming existing processes and business applications to become data-driven and create new and enhanced employee and customer digital experiences.

 

The preferred location for this position is any Wärtsilä office in Finland. However, Wärtsilä locations in other European countries will also be considered.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Acting as Product Owner for our Service Quotation Management System (based on Salesforce.com) as well as the new "Service Timeline" application (Amazon Web Services AWS).
  • Driving continuous improvement of sales and offering processes for P&FS business by utilising Agile, Service Design, and Operational Excellence methodologies, in collaboration with the development team.
  • Enabling performance monitoring of the processes and applications in your domain, securing its contribution to achieving business targets.
  • Securing adoption of processes and tools, ensuring end-user satisfaction.
  • Conducting trainings on processes and business applications within your domain.
  • Facilitating complex decision-making, occasionally leading online or onsite workshops, as well as presenting and selling innovative ideas to the business leadership team.

 

 

Essential skills and experience:

 

  • Hands-on experience with Sales Process development, especially CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) development.
  • Proven track record of leading successful developments in a global and complex environment.
  • Understanding of Service business, especially Transactional business.
  • Experience in IT project management and leading distributed cross-functional teams.
  • Practical experience and fluency with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Knowledge of Service Design knowledge is advantageous.
