Digital Marketing Development and Technology Lead

As part of Wärtsilä’s Marketing and Communications, Digital Marketing Operations and Technology team, we are looking for a Digital Marketing Development and Technology Lead.

 

In this role, you will lead the Marketing and Communications function’s global data, analytics, and AI strategy, turning business needs into a clear roadmap, scalable capabilities, and measurable outcomes. You will strengthen how we demonstrate M&C value, improve decision-making through actionable insights, and accelerate the strategic use of AI. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on development across data governance, dashboards and reporting, high-impact AI use cases, and stakeholder collaboration to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and business impact.

 

You will work closely with the other Digital Marketing Development and Technology Leads, Marketing Operations Experts, Wärtsilä IT, and the campaign owners in business marketing teams. This position reports to the Head of Digital Marketing Technology.

 

The preferred locations for this role are Finland, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland or the UK.

 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Driving M&C data strategy, roadmap, and measurement (incl. governance and enrichment), and establishing frameworks to leverage the marketing database and agentic AI in digital marketing and value showcase
  • Driving the marketing data capability journey by collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their needs
  • Creating and developing dashboards in collaboration with other development leads and IT
  • Providing guidance and supporting conversations with key stakeholders to determine data and analytics requirements
  • Leading the development and execution of the M&C AI strategy and roadmap to drive transformation, improve operational efficiency, and elevate the impact of marketing and communications globally
  • Driving the development and facilitation of M&C AI agents and their adoption
  • Collaborating with Wärtsilä IT to assist in development initiatives
  • Owning and advancing the relevant tech stack, including vendor relationships and license management
  • Digital tech stack maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Providing support for execution tasks when required

 

 

Position requirements:

 

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in marketing and digital marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, and/or a relevant field of study, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive strategic expertise in data and analytics within marketing and communications, including measurement frameworks, data governance, value demonstration, and the related digital technology stack
  • Strong capability in Gen AI, emerging technologies, and their strategic application in marketing and communications to drive innovation, efficiency, and business value
  • Proven ability to prioritise in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience in project management, including planning, prioritisation, stakeholder coordination, and leading cross-functional data, analytics, and AI-driven initiatives to successful delivery in complex environments
  • Collaborative attitude and strong team player mindset
