We currently have openings under our Wartsila Service Unit called  SUPBL  (Services Unit, Performance Based Logistics)

 

 

 

Why do we need this position

With aims to provide a better service for our CCL customer and to build up on the positive development of the long-term PBL agreement, we will need dedicated field service turbocharger engineers.  Also this will allow us to cut costs since ABB engineers are very expensive for us to use under this PBL agreement.

We currently have openings under our Wartsila Service Unit called  SUPBL  (Services Unit, Performance Based Logistics)

 

Currently, we have four positions, two in USA and two in Europe.

 

Position Description:

 

Field Service Superintendent Engineer to join our Turbocharger Services team.

 

You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated team of Field Services professionals who can independently work and take decisions under pressure in combination with analytical/critical thinking and excellent knowledge about 4-stroke Diesel engine Turbochargers.

 

Main responsibilities:

-Independently execute Field Service and workshop activities/repairs mainly on ABB and Napier turbochargers

-Provide internal and external work reports according to Wartsila standards.

-Perform site audits

-Collect and organize time and expense reports. Report and inform administrative personnel as required

-Report executed work according to Wartsila standards

-Promote Wartsila Products and Services

-Turbocharger troubleshooting skills

-Able to operate balancing machines for turbochargers

-Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of ABB and Napier turbochargers.

-Ability to read and understand turbocharger diagrams

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

BS degree or five year of related experience, or AS degree and five years of experience, or High School Diploma /Technical / Vocational school (preferably Marine, Mechanical or USCG) + 5 years of experience

 

Experience:

-At least five years’ experience with ABB/Napier turbochargers for medium/large bore diesel engines

-Has theoretical knowledge of the specific expertise area

-Excellent technical product and equipment skills related to medium/large bore diesel engine Turbochargers

-Provide field service and workshop activities for ABB and Napier turbochargers

-Perform and analyze complex repair and troubleshooting of the above TC brands 

-Interact with and support the customer during the work execution

-Assist and solve technical and operational problems related to the TC

-Proactive advice and promote available products and solutions to the customer

-Provide internal/external service work reports, including conclusion/recommendations

-Detailed knowledge of turbocharger and engine principles, product range and repair techniques with ability to troubleshoot, producing detailed investigation reports and operational inspections to assist customer improve the efficiency and operation of their product.

-Ability to formulate presentation materials for customer visits, whether supporting sales or service or in-house communication.

-Supports with the development of customers with a high level interface and close working relations, providing consultancy and advice to maintain the product by manufacturer’s instructions.

-Act as the Company’s representative working with the company’s code of conduct and ethically to expand business activities and strives to satisfy and exceed customer’s needs and expectations.

-Ensure that all work is by the quality procedures, company regulations, meets our legal and commercial requirements, delivering the financial controls needed to achieve the company’s targets.

 

Engine knowledge

-Ability to read and understand turbocharger diagrams

-Strong knowledge of Wartsila diesel engine types and their auxiliaries A+

-Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of ABB and Napier turbochargers.

 

Technical analysis

-Strong knowledge of turbochargers.

-Ability to analyze and solve product related turbocharger problems.

-Ability to carry out relevant measurements.

 

Service general competencies

-At least some relevant working experience on Wartsila products.

-Field Service experience and workshop experience

 

Quality and safety certificates and knowledge

-Occupational health and safety

 

Languages:

-English, Spanish is a plus

 

Information Management:

-Knowledge of MS Excel and Word

 

Communication skills:

-Communication and listening skills, ability to deal with people of different nationality

-Ability to follow directions and work under pressure.

-Wartsila history knowledge A+

-Customer relations skills

-Motivation to learn and grow professionally

 

Other skills:

-Motivation to travel around USA for at least 7-8 month per year. Also abroad if needed.
