Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey and help shape the decarbonisation of the marine and energy? Wärtsilä is seeking a strategic, inspiring, and partnership-driven leader for the position of Head of Brand.
The Head of Brand is responsible for creating and driving Wärtsilä's global brand strategy in a way that enables business growth, strengthens customer engagement, and reinforces our strategic positioning. In this role, you will develop Wärtsilä's brand positioning, identity, and messaging in alignment with our overall business and brand strategy. You will be responsible for creating meaningful, distinctive, and unified brand experiences that bring Wärtsilä's purpose and value to life. You will foster brand innovation and ensure consistent execution across all touchpoints, both external and internal, to signal Wärtsilä's differentiated role in driving a decarbonised future.
Collaboration is essential in this role: you will work closely with business units and teams across Wärtsilä to ensure the brand supports - and enables - our shared strategic ambitions. You will be a member of the Wärtsilä Marketing & Communications Leadership Team and report to the EVP, Marketing and Communications Anu Sirkiä.
The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland, but other main Wärtsilä office locations in Europe can also be considered. We offer a hybrid working model, with the expectation of being on-site as needed to collaborate and connect with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Wärtsilä's global brand strategy to enable business growth, differentiation, and long term value creation, including development of brand health metrics and refining strategies as needed.

Position Wärtsilä as a global thought leader in the marine and energy industries in collaboration with other Wärtsilä marketing and communications teams.

Ensure a compelling, consistent brand experience across all touchpoints to drive customer engagement, trust, and preference.

Guide the development of the employer brand, ensuring its alignment with the overarching Wärtsilä brand.

Develop and govern Wärtsilä's brand identity system, including creative direction, visual identity, and guidelines to keep the brand forward looking and relevant.

Drive brand innovation and identify emerging trends and new opportunities where the brand can accelerate growth and elevate customer experience. E.g. identify opportunities of AI in brand strategy and application.

Lead and coach a team of brand professionals.

Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability and shared value by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders across Wärtsilä and managing global creative suppliers.

Evolve the brand technology stack in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Technology team.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; Master's preferred.

Strong business acumen.

10+ years of experience in strategic marketing roles.

Experience in B2B branding, preferably in industrial or technology sectors and proven track record of leading global brand initiatives and transformations in a global corporate setting.

Experienced team leader within a global context.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
