We are seeking an experienced and strategically minded Head of Treasury to join our global Energy Storage Business organisation in a rapidly growing renewable energy market.
This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead the treasury function of a newly carved-out business, taking full ownership of building treasury operations from the ground up. As the ideal candidate you will have direct experience of this process.
You will set up banking structures, develop treasury processes, manage liquidity routines and ensure a seamless transition into an independently operating group of companies. Success in this role requires solid expertise in cash and liquidity management, financial risk management, hedging and bank relationship management.
You should also be comfortable navigating compliance, internal controls and treasury-related reporting requirements within a global corporate environment. This role will be a hands-on position where a self-driven person will thrive. Your work will be essential in safeguarding financial integrity, supporting the business with reliable treasury insights and enabling future growth.
As a key member of the global finance team, you will manage both local and international treasury needs, collaborate closely with banks, auditors, and internal stakeholders and drive continuous improvements across all treasury processes.
The ideal location for this position is Helsinki, Finland, however we would consider suitably qualified individuals based in Vaasa or Turku.
Key Responsibilities
Cash & Liquidity Management
- Ensure the company maintains adequate liquidity to support global operations and strategic initiatives.
- Manage global cash pooling structures, daily cash positioning, and short- to long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Optimise cash deployment and internal funding between group entities, enhancing working capital efficiency.
- Provide management with timely insights and recommendations on cash movements, trends and requirements.
Hedging & Financial Risk Management
- Develop, execute, and monitor hedging strategies for foreign exchange in alignment with corporate risk policies.
- Assess financial risks and propose mitigation strategies based on market developments and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and treasury governance frameworks.
Guarantees
- Manage the full portfolio of bank guarantees, letters of credit, parent company guarantees and other trade finance instruments.
- Oversee the issuance, amendment, extension, and cancellation of guarantees in a timely and compliant manner.
- Partner with commercial, legal, and project teams to structure trade finance solutions that support contract execution.
Bank Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong, strategic relationships with global banks and financial partners.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, facility structures, and service agreements to ensure optimal banking support for the business.
- Monitor banking performance, market conditions, competitive offerings to drive continuous improvement and cost efficiency.
Additional Contributions
- Liaison closely with the businesses' trade finance team on different trade finance topics
- Manage treasury reporting and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digitalization within treasury processes.
- Provide guidance and support to finance team on treasury-related matters.
- Manage corporate financing activities, including credit facilities and capital structure development, as needed.
