We are looking for an IT Business Partner, Energy to join Wärtsilä’s Energy IT & Digital Operations team. In this role, you will be part of our Energy Data and Digital & IT Function. You will act as a trusted partner for Energy business stakeholders, helping translate business needs into clear IT demand, portfolio priorities and value-driven delivery. You will play an important part in building a more strategic, optimised IT landscape for Energy while supporting the implementation of Wärtsilä’s renewed and IT operating model. 

 

The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Vaasa or Turku, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid work

 

Your role and responsibilities   

  

As an IT Business Partner, Energy, you will work between Business and IT teams to ensure Wärtsilä IT delivers business value and that IT priorities are aligned with business priorities and are delivered and adopted to satisfy business needs.  

  

Your work will include some of the following responsibilities: 

 

  • Act as the primary IT contact for Energy business stakeholders, ensuring that IT demand, delivery and operations are aligned with business priorities and value expectations. 

  • Facilitate and create transparency for Energy management and the wider organisation on IT portfolio priorities, value delivery, risks and progress. 

  • Build awareness of IT, data and digitalisation activities, needs and opportunities across Energy and play a part in cross business collaboration across Wärtsilä businesses and support functions. 

  • Connect business needs, governance forums, portfolio priorities and IT delivery capabilities to support effective decision-making. 

  • Drive selected business demands or initiatives, new capability needs, process renewal and optimisation and application replacement initiatives. 

  • Support IT delivery and escalation management to ensure quality, ownership clarity and timely resolution of operational topics. 

  • Lead and or support change management activities related to Wärtsilä IT operating model implementation, process optimisation and automation including other technology transformation activities. 

  

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:  

  

  • Solid understanding of how IT, data and digital capabilities create business value, preferably in an industrial or global business environment. 

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in IT or in a relevant field 

  • Ability to translate business priorities into clear IT demand, portfolio input and actionable delivery plans. 

  • Experience in establishing or facilitation governance forums, portfolio management, demand management, IT operations or operating model implementation and or transformation. 

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trust across business and IT teams. 

  • Structured and proactive way of working, with confidence to handle ambiguity, drive alignment and follow through on complex topics. 

  • Interest in continuous improvement, digital transformation and the practical use of technology, data and AI to improve business outcomes. 

  • A curious and open minded outlook and feel comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving team. 

  • Fluency in spoken and written English
