We are looking for an IT Operations and Application Portfolio Manager to take a key role in improving the stability, security, compliance, and lifecycle management of the Energy IT application portfolio. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Vaasa or Turku, Finland. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
As an IT Operations and Application Portfolio Manager, your work will include strengthening Energy application portfolio management practices, improving operational governance, and supporting application teams in adopting global Wärtsilä IT processes. You’ll be working as part of the Energy IT and Digital Operations team with diverse expertise across business IT, enterprise architecture, application operations, security, and service management.
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

Establish and develop the Energy application portfolio management practices, including the Energy IT service catalogue.

Drive application support needs for prioritized applications together with enterprise architecture and relevant application teams.

Support actions that improve application stability, security, compliance, operational efficiency, and lifecycle planning.

Guide application managers toward agreed global IT processes, including ITSM, incident management, WCI practices, and Wärtsilä IT policies.

Act as, or support, the technical responsible role for selected applications where technical accountability needs to be strengthened.

Create and maintain a clearer view of application health, ownership, lifecycle priorities, and future renewal needs.
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

Solid experience in IT operations, application management, service management, or application portfolio management.

Bachelor's or master’s degree in IT or in a relevant field
-
Good understanding of application lifecycle management, operational governance, compliance, and security requirements.

Experience working with both business and IT stakeholders and translating operational needs into practical actions and improvements.

Familiarity with ITSM practices, incident management, and structured continuous improvement ways of working.

A proactive, structured, and collaborative working style, with the confidence to guide teams toward common practices.

Experience with application support development, application portfolio reviews, service catalogue development, or enterprise architecture collaboration is considered an advantage.

A curious and open minded outlook and feel comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving team.

Fluency in spoken and written English
