Internal Communications Manager

We are looking for an Internal Communications Manager with a main responsibility of supporting Wärtsilä corporation’s flagship projects, and supporting corporate change management. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland. We offer possibility to hybrid remote work. 

 

Your role and responsibilities:  

 

As an Internal Communications Manager your work will include planning and creating content for our internal channels, counselling our internal teams in their communications needs, and supporting our internal transformation project communications and related change management. These tasks involve the independent development of narratives and presentations and elaborate knowledge of change management. They can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You will be working as part of the Corporate Internal and Regional Communications team with diverse expertise, and report to the Head of Internal and Regional Communications. 

 

In this position, you will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Supporting Wärtsilä’s transformation projects and their change management efforts
  • Strategic planning and development of culture-forming campaigns and relevant content for our internal communications channels, e.g. our SharePoint intranet, Viva Engage communities, and Teams Townhall events
  • Collaboration with business communications and supporting HR, Information Management, Cyber Security, Legal and Corporate Relations
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of the internal communications channels
  • Communicating our financial results to our internal audiences

 

Requirements for the position: 

 

  • Around 5-6 years of experience in Communications or Marketing
  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills. Finnish language skill is seen as a plus

 

To be able to succeed in the position, you have: 

 

  • Experience in supporting change communications - such as organisational changes, employment negotiations, and/or other transformations
  • Experience in internal communications planning, both short- and long-term 
  • Experience in building and running SharePoint-based Intranet
  • Good skills in photo and video editing (e.g. PhotoShop, Canva)
  • You are proactive, creative, and collaborative, have attention to detail, and work well under pressure. 

 

Seen as an advantage:

 

  • Experience in financial communications
  • Presentation creation and script-writing skills 
  • Experience in community building
