Manager, Group Business Control

We are now looking for a Manager, Group Business Control, to join Group Business Control and Financial Planning & Analysis team in the CFO organization. The team is responsible for management reporting, G&A controlling, financial analysis, forecasting and reporting development. Role of the team is to understand current and future business performance and the drivers behind the numbers, and to provide tools supporting value adding analysis – all this to support the management in decision making.


This position offers excellent viewpoint to financial performance and development of whole Wärtsilä Group across all businesses. Main responsibility area in this position is the monthly management reporting which requires high level of accuracy but also strong communication skills.


The preferred location for this permanent position is Finland (Helsinki or Vaasa).


Main Responsibilities:


  • Managing monthly management reporting process (communication towards stakeholders, setting requirements, maintaining schedule, providing necessary templates)
  • Updating the Wärtsilä Group monthly report and continuous improvement of the report
  • Analysis of business performance and finding root causes
  • Build and maintain strong cooperation with all Wärtsilä businesses
  • Work closely with reporting development to define requirements for reporting automation


For this role, we wish you have:


  • Drive Wärtsilä Purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä values
  • Relevant Master’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience from being part of closing process and using relevant systems (e.g. HFM)
  • Accuracy and visual skills to ensure high quality reporting
  • Experience in using different reporting tools like Power BI or Qlik to analyze data
  • Commitment and flexibility due to occasional peaks in workload
  • Self-driven approach
  • Friendly and supportive mindset
