We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join and be part of our innovative Wärtsilä Energy Marketing & Communications Positioning  and Digital team. In this position you will support in generating winning creative ideas and concepts, develop our thought leadership communications, and be part of building global Energy marketing content and campaigns to support our journey to lead the energy industry into a renewable Energy future.

The preferred location for this permanent position is Helsinki.

Your role and responsibilities:


•    Contribute to defining Wärtsilä Energy key messages and support in building brand awareness and positioning Wärtsilä Energy as an energy transition thought leader
•    Plan, execute and follow the performance of global Wärtsilä Energy thought leadership activities.  Create and share thought leadership content and support core Wärtsilä Energy thought leaders with trainings
•    Plan and execute global integrated marketing and communications campaigns by creating content for different target groups, leveraging organic social media, paid advertisement and thought leadership activities
•    Support in adapting Wärtsilä corporate brand guidelines and materials, create Energy brand related visual marketing materials
•    Contributing to the development of yearly Positioning and Digital plans
•    Propose budget for your marketing and communications activities and regularly follow up the budget and costs
•    Follow up and measure the performance of your marketing and communications activities based on Energy marketing and communications metrics and KPIs, striving for continuous improvement and excellent results
•    Closely collaborate with key business stakeholders and ensure alignment of your marketing and communications plans and activities with business priorities. Liaise closely with internal stakeholders, such as other Energy M&C teams, Energy Area business colleagues, Strategy and Business Development, and Corporate Brand team
•    Manage global external partners needed for marketing and communications projects, events and media work

•    Continuously seek new innovative partners to work with to build a strong Wärtsilä Energy brand

 

Requirements for the position: 


•    A master’s or bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications
•    A minimum of 3 years working experience in marketing and/or communications, preferably in a business-to-business environment
•    Excellent content creation, storytelling skills and a strong visual eye
•    Experience in working with organic and paid digital marketing
•    A strong interest in the energy transition and energy sector
•    Creative and curious mindset and willingness to explore new ways of doing things
•    Ability to convert complex, technical topics into compelling and easy-to-understand content
•    A demonstrated ability for conceptual thinking and strong planning, project management and prioritisation skills
•    Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
•    A can-do attitude and drive for results
•    Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills

 

An ideal candidate also has: 


•    Experience of working in the energy industry
•    Experience in international B2B marketing, digital marketing, external communications, thought leadership, branding and working with cross-cultural teams
•    Experience in managing external marketing and communications partner agencies and freelancers
•    A business-oriented mindset and the willingness to continuously learn and improve
