Product manager Battery

We are looking for a Product Manager Battery with the main responsibility of focusing on battery technology. We offer the possibility of hybrid remote work. Preferred location(s) for this position is the Herndon, VA or Toronto, Ontario region. You could also work remote, in the US or Canada eastern time zone except New York state. 
  
Your role and responsibilities:
 

As a Product manager, your work will include: 

  • Collaborate with battery cell/module/rack suppliers and develop selection and screening. Obtain and understand product characteristics and value, and work cross-functionally to select technologies/solutions/components, maximising value for the business and our end customers
  • Lead the technical discussions with battery vendors. Co-operate closely with sourcing
  • Collaborate and support our proposal and sourcing and delivery organisation in battery related tasks. Work cross-functionally with Engineering, delivery, supply chain, sales, marketing, and quality to launch products and solutions
  • Be responsible for data and documentation internally and externally. Help to establish and enforce product definition and life cycle strategy
  • Together with Engineering, Develop system, component, and sub-component specifications for the various elements of a Battery energy storage system, such as functional, performance, and compliance requirements for rack BMS, system BMS, modules, and rack switchgear
  • Work cross-functionally with product development, delivery, supply chain, sales, marketing, and quality to launch products and solutions 
  • Create and document product documentation such as manuals, application guides, and source content for marketing material


The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of the Product Management and Application Engineering team with diverse expertise. 
 
Requirements for the position: 

 

  • Can do, systematic attitude with excellent communication skills. Team player attitude internally and externally, Entrepreneurial drive.
  • +3-7 years of product development/management experience, preferably in battery and/or energy storage renewables systems, including electronics, electrical and BMS design 
  • Knowledge of batteries and energy storage industry certifications and compliance standards 
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, peers, subordinates, vendors, shop and office in a fast-paced environment 
  • Language skills: Mandarin is seen as an advantage. 
  • Willing to travel 30% of the time
