We are looking for a Project & Market Analyst with a main responsibility of supporting our Market and Project Development teams in Africa and Europe with skills, dedication, and a sense of adventure. The preferred location for this position are France (Paris), Finland (Helsinki), or Poland (Warsaw). We offer the possibility of hybrid work.  
 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Project & Market Analyst your work will include identifying, analysing, and developing new value propositions for our solutions (engine power plants, hybrids) and conducting power system and financial feasibilities, project and business case modelling across the Africa and Europe region, among other tasks. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of versatile, dynamic, and innovative Growth & Development team at Wärtsilä Energy with diverse expertise. 

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

1- Market and Power System Development:  

  • Conduct power system analyses and models together with the global modelling team.  

  • Conduct market and country analyses which support project and market development initiatives.  

  • Create market-level value propositions, materials, and business proposals to target customers.  

  • Support the market development action plans for selected countries.  

  • Identify and assist in approaching key potential partners in selected markets and travel to strategic markets to establish professional networks.  

 

2- Project Development:  

  • Support the sales organisation with technology comparison studies, feasibility and tariff studies, and more.  

  • Support project development teams with bid proposals, project development structuring, and implementation.  

  • Arrange project finance (debt and equity) and maintain financial models and feasibility calculation tools.  

 

3-Strategy & operations:  

  • Contribute to the implementation of the Wärtsilä Energy Business strategy by organising workshops, providing regular reporting, and participating in cross-functional collaboration.  

  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies in the designated area.  

  • Support day-to-day team activities and administration.  

 

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:  

 

  • Hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Finance, Energy, or Economics or another field that supports the task.  

  • You need to be fluent in English; another European language would be an advantage. 

  • The person we are looking for has excellent analytical skills, a good understanding of financial analysis, and advanced skills in MS tools. Strong modelling abilities are essential, experience with AI agents and prompt engineering, and having proficiency in Python would be a valuable asset. 

  • A successful candidate will have a positive and proactive approach and demonstrate ownership and responsibility for driving their own work. 

  • You are a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, an interest in the energy sector and a willingness to travel.   

  • The position is suitable for a recently graduated candidate or a person with a few years of experience.
