Purchaser, ES&O

 

to join our team working for a better future.

 

The position is Temporary for 12 months and the preferred location is in Helsinki, Other locations (Vaasa or Turku ) in Finland are also possible

 

What you will be doing

 

Wärtsilä Energy Storage & Optimisation Business is looking for a Purchaser to strengthen the Purchasing team. As a Purchaser, you cooperate with internal and external stakeholders, negotiate, follow up and secure correct purchasing activities

 

As a Purchaser, ES&O, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for Energy Storage & Optimisation purchasing activities within nominated categories, such as securing and coordinating the deliveries according to project requirements, life cycle team requirements and suppliers' lead times.
  • Responsible for offer evaluations and purchase negotiations with suppliers.
  • Ensure alignment and cooperation within PP&L (Planning, Procurement, and Logistics) team, Project Management, Strategic Sourcing, Delivery & Life Cycle Management.
  • Actively develop a way of working in cooperation with different stakeholders.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • Technical or commercial education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
  • Minimum 1–2-years’ experience from a similar position and proven track record is required
  • Fluent in written and spoken English language
  • Good negotiation skills, a result-oriented attitude, and strong problem-solving skills. In your daily work, you will work closely with team members and different stakeholders which requires good communication and team working skills
  • Accuracy, analytical thinking, and the ability to work under pressure are needed in this position
  • Previous experience in SAP is seen as an advantage
