Wärtsilä Information Management (IM) is a global organisation of more than 350 IT professionals who work together to deliver best-in-class IT services in Wärtsilä. We are now looking for a Senior Manager for Solution Development and Support to lead and manage PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) & SLM(Service Lifecycle Management) Solutions and services.  This an opportunity for a seasoned IT professional to take on a leading role in the Wärtsilä PLM ecosystem and support us through our journey to SLM (Service Lifecycle Management). In this role you will be leading a team of solution domain professionals to enhance the value of the IT delivery and development of their own solution domain. Solution domain is consisting of Siemens PLM Teamcenter, Lifecycle Data Platform (Neo4J Graph database), Design (NX), and PLM Reports / PLM Web applications in an integrated solution landscape.
 

Position information:

This position is full-time, permanent, and based in Finland (Helsinki, Vaasa, Turku).
 

Responsibilities and focus areas:

• To lead and manage PLM & SLM Solution Team/resources  
• Inspire, influence and guide your team to participate in the common delivery of Global PLM & SLM Solutions & Services
• Responsible for relationship, demand, and service ownership of services/solutions within own solution domain
• Responsible for end-to-end Service delivery and development of Wärtsilä global PLM  & SLM solutions and integrated 3rd party applications this solution domain
• Define delivery strategy and enable strategy execution with clear definition, management & monitoring of tactical/ operational activities supporting strategy
• Establish a clear way of working, roles and responsibilities in the internal and external teams in the development and support process and ensure communication of the same
• Responsible for providing leadership in creating and managing solution & platform Roadmaps to meet business demands
• Responsible for preparing resource plans based on solution objectives, roadmaps, key deliverables and timing for various projects and solution deliveries
• Monitor multiple projects, identify risks and issues in advance and initiate appropriate corrective and preventive actions ensuring performance as per project goals
• Manage TCO (Total cost of ownership) for PLM & SLM solution area. Participating in long-range planning, updating rolling forecasts with financial accountability to meet/exceed targets. Manage budget forecast to ensure effective financial control across the team and associated contractual arrangements with support partners
• Enable continuous service improvement along with the team and partners through the effective use of metrics and key performance indicators within their own solution domain in achieving very high levels of performance consistently
• Build and maintain motivated Service/Solution teams, including third-party development resources, making sure there is an iterative plan to work towards. Develop a strong sense of ownership & business development mindset in your organization
• Coach/mentor to develop high-performing teams
• Build and develop continuous learning & development mindset in your team

Qualifications:

• At least 10 years experience in the PLM & Engineering domain in a large global organisation across multiple geographies
• Proven track record of running and developing PLM solutions & platform
• Rich experience in leading end-to-end service delivery, with demonstrable experience with improving service levels and business outcomes for PLM & Engineering services
• Excellent knowledge of PLM & SLM processes and tools
• Experience working with large diverse and distributed teams in multi-vendor setups and large in-house IT teams. Cultural understanding and experience working in multi-cultural teams
• Financial acumen is valuable for Service TCO management, resource allocation, and cost-effective service solutions
• Commercial awareness & Vendor management experience will be desirable
• Senior stakeholder management (Business leadership teams, IT leadership teams). Collaborative mindset across business functions
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and collaboration skills. Proactive and goal-focused attitude to work with excellent decision-making skills. Self-starter, highly motivated and with leadership quality
• Experience in DevOps & agile methodology, requirement management and service design
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in computer science, systems engineering, economics, data science or other related field of study. Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle management domain & processes
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, presentation, collaboration and teamwork skills
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and collaboration skills. Proactive and goal-focused attitude to work with excellent decision-making skills. Self-starter, highly motivated and with leadership quality
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and regulatory compliance is vital to safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining security standards.
