We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect with a main responsibility in for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive solutions that enhance the productivity and security of end users within Wärtsilä. The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland but also Vaasa, Finland is negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

 

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Senior Technical Solution Architect for Workplace Services your work will focus on architect and design modern digital workplace services, Active Directory & Entra IT, Business side PKI & Certificates, Device as a Service (DaaS) including device management tools and services, Mobility as a Service (MaaS), endpoint management systems, workplace security, and architecture on demand. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of Wärtsilä Workplace Services team with diverse expertise.

 

 

Requirements for the position:

 

  • 10+ years leading enterprise workplace architecture, including hands-on delivery in production.
  • Deep Microsoft identity expertise: Active Directory and Entra ID (SSO, Conditional Access, hybrid), at 10k+ user/device scale.
  • Proven ownership of PKI at scale (users/devices/services), including offline/remote renewal and certificate lifecycle automation.
  • Expert-level endpoint management (Intune and/or ConfigMgr) covering DaaS/MaaS, compliance baselines, and device lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated Zero Trust design (segmentation, device trust, least privilege, PAM) in regulated or critical environments.
  • Track record delivering reliable updates/patching over constrained links (satellite/remote), using caching/peer distribution.
  • Sector experience in marine/energy/manufacturing or IT/OT-integrated environments with strict uptime/SLA expectations.
  • Advanced automation (PowerShell/Graph API) and policy-as-code for repeatable, auditable configurations.

 

 

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:

 

  • Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field with relevant certifications: SC-300/SC-400, AZ-500, CISSP, IEC 62443.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT architecture, with a focus on seniority on digital workplace services and end user services.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 platform, Active Directory, and endpoint management systems.
  • Experience with NIS2/ISO 27001/IEC 62443/IMO cyber guidance and audit-readiness for workplace platforms.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing DaaS and MaaS solutions.
  • Strong understanding of workplace security principles and practices.
  • Successful delivery of large-scale modernization (e.g., AD consolidation, Intune adoption) with measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with global teams, internal business stakeholders and vendors.
