Service Manager, Strategic Business Projects

We are now looking for a Service Manager, to Global ERP CoE, responsible for services for Strategic Business Projects such as prioritised business projects or Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in the ERP domain. The selected person will be part of the ERP Service Management community and responsible for designing and managing services to support project execution, especially related to M&A requirements. 
 
The preferred location for this permanent position is one of our Wärtsilä locations in Finland (Helsinki, Vaasa, Turku), or India (Mumbai) other locations can also be considered, with hybrid remote work possibilities.
 
Main responsibilities as a Service Manager, Strategic Business Projects:
 

  • Making sure the services in own area are fit for purpose 
  • Coordinating Strategic Business Projects related activities in the ERP domain
  • Acting as a project manager for merger and acquisition activities in the ERP domain 
  • Making sure documentation and guidelines are up to date and continuously maintained in own area
  • Continual service improvement for services in own area
  • Coordinating the service activities with a clear governance and stakeholder commitment
  • Coordinating with vendors and other IM teams to ensure that IT solutions are developed and delivered in a cost efficient and qualitative manner
  • Ensuring active customer relationship
  •  Managing virtual service teams consisting of internal and external resources
  • Ensuring the business and IT are in alignment in own responsibility area 
     

Qualifications:
 

  • Education: M.Sc. or equivalent in Information Technology or other relevant field.
  • Experience of working as SAP Service Manager, project manager or in similar SAP coordinator position.
  • Good understanding of business processes and mergers and acquisitions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Good understanding of SAP processes
  • Very good documentation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Experience of ITIL based processes and tools to support service management.
  • Proactive, development minded and goal focused attitude to work.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
