Solution Architect, Finance Solutions (SAP)

We are looking for a visionary SAP Solution Architect for Finance area (SAP FI) to work in the interface of business and IT. You will be a key player in defining the S/4HANA scope for the future roadmap and architecture design within own area. Even though the main focus the coming years will be on the S/4HANA transformation, you will also be supporting business operations, SAP services.

The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland but other Finnish Wärtsilä locations also are considered. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.

Your role and responsibilities 

As a Solution Architect in Finance Solutions the focus for the coming years will be to work in close cooperation with business and other stakeholders in the transformation journey from current landscape and architecture to the future state. You will be responsible for the architectural design and roadmap creation within Finance domain. In this role, you will be part of the Global ERP Centre of Excellence community. You will be working closely together with business, other solution architects and extended teams to enhance the value of the IT delivery and development of your solution domain.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have strong experience in SAP Finance and very good experience from SAP S/4HANA and what new functionalities it includes related to finance and controlling. You also need to have good understanding of business processes in relation to finance and ability to quickly adopt the company’s specific solutions.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Participate in the SAP S/4HANA scoping for Finance Solutions
• Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of architectural designs within own area
• Participate in and lead creation of solution roadmaps both on operational and strategic levels to establish future state vision, shaping the existing landscape to match emerging technologies and the SAP S/4HANA capabilities
• Translate business expectations into a deliverable solution proposal plan based on the SAP S/4HANA solution portfolio together with rest of the Information Management team, business and externals
• Participate in the SAP S/4HANA design and blueprinting and be part of the SAP S/4HANA Design Authority Board
• Create and maintain architecture documentation as part of business projects and operations
• Perform cross-functional analysis to optimize the process flow between modules in end-to-end scenarios
• Provide solution recommendations for both decision makers in the business lines and support functions

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

• Education: M.Sc. / B.Sc. or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar
• Very good team working skills in a global environment
• Proactive, development-minded and goal-focused attitude to work
• Good leadership and management skills, ability to handle stress
• Fluent written and spoken English, ability to communicate complex topics to non-IT stakeholders
• Very good documentation, visualization and presentation skills
• Design thinking and experience from Service Design is a plus, key is the ability to transform requirements into solution proposals
• Functional and technical experience of SAP ECC and S/4 HANA Controlling, product costing and accounting
• Understanding of E2E business value flows, including reporting in relation to finance (COPA, Margin Analyses) and MM/SD finance integrations.
• End-to-end cycle SAP ERP implementation experience, from project preparation through go-live
