Solution architect, Sales and Field Service

We are now looking for a Solution Architect, Sales and Field service. The solution architect is a strategic advisor who partners with business leaders to implement innovative, transformational change. Solution architect combine world-class problem-solving skills and analytical excellence to help solve business problems with feasible solutions. The work would be contributing to strategic developments teams or for instance new businesses take Salesforce into use by breaking complex issues into manageable tasks.


The architect understands current core Wärtsilä IT platforms in order to tackle correct pain points and recommend feasible solutions. The Architect facilitates the discussions between businesses and IM to understand the feasibility, viability and desirability of the proposed idea and how to get there. Then translates business needs into technical requirements in collaboration with technical colleagues around. The solution architect needs to be able to understand and communicate the big picture and help to ensure we are not doing sub-optimisation.



The position is permanent and preferred location is in Finland (Helsinki, Turku, Vaasa), but also other Wärtsilä main locations are possible.


For the ideal colleague we are waiting for skills in:

  • Salesforce knowledge – solid understanding of technical feasibility and being able communicate well with both business and technical experts. Some level of SAP understanding required as well.
  • Broad technical understanding across all areas of IT development and operations 
  • Strong leadership, change management and self-management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Comfortable in providing presentations for decision making and challenge the business leaders to improve ways-of-working    
  • An education which supports your work and way of thinking. E.g. M.Sc. in Information Technology or Economics & Business Administration, MBA
