Tech Capability Developer (Fixed term role)

About the Position:
In the People Services you find the HR Platforms team, a team consisting of tech professionals, building, enhancing and maintaining the digital enablers required to run our New HR Operating model. In the HR Platforms team, we build meaningful HR experiences on top of our existing platforms, to enable an engaging and self-service focused HR Services. In practice this means creating an interaction layer, a one-stop-shop custom HR portal powered by a virtual assistant, on top of our core Masterdata and other related systems. We support also other core systems around the company, by providing masterdata via traditional integrations and with our newest product, the employee API.
 

The HR Platforms team is organized around a set of prioritized products and capabilities, and we adopt the principles of agile ways of working. We work as an in-house development team and we partner with the business to ensure value delivery at cadence. This means that the team together with the HR Community defines the requirements, definition of done and acceptance criteria, after which the team together deliver the needed configurations, software and chatbot development, content, automation, UI or capability. 

Your closest colleagues will be the Senior Product Owner, the tech capability developers, HR Platforms Lead and HR Business technologist, as well as the Solution Architect and Senior Software architect in the team. 

 

As Developer, Technology Capabilities, you are responsible of developing core system capabilities as per prioritized backlog and releases. You take ownership of specific focus areas, meaning its backlog and development needs, supporting the product owner to create the overall prioritization of the Employee experience. The focus areas for the developer in this position are: 

1.    Project Management for named projects, among which eg. 100% Data Quality initiative, strongly linked to reporting development
2.    Integration functional requirement and development, namely taking ownership of the Employee API, the prioritized customers and their integration needs

All tech capability developers shall be open to participate in the automation work, as per need of the task at hand. The approach to the development work is agile, which means you will get the opportunity to extend your knowledge to new areas, depending on the priorities set by the Product Owner. 


Responsibilities of the role:

  • Developing the Employee Experience enablers as per the prioritized backlog set by the Employee Experience Product Owner. You shall be ready to be hands-on with systems
  • Taking ownership of two of the following focus areas and growing the skills in the other three:
    • 100% Data Quality initiative is developed in the HR Platforms and includes strong collaboration with an amount of stakeholders from different areas in the company.
    • Integration functional requirement gathering and validation with Product Owner and HR Business technologist and IM Solution architect or HR Platforms Solution Architect. Focus on Employee API and prioritized integration tasks.
  • Expected to continuously improve the Ways of Working and use time to standardize and automate also own processes.  
  • Expected to interact directly with stakeholders, users and the HR community members, to ensure delivering a well-perceived HR service experience.
  • Participation to and/or Management of named projects

 

About You:
People Services community is a group of professionals who are solution-oriented collaborators, fostering a culture of people-centricity, operational excellence and focus on making an impact to the business.
We are looking for someone who has been working with Masterdata and its (modern) integrations, preferably in SuccessFactors and has also been working with Data Quality initiatives. You have seen how APIs can deliver value and are able to have a meaningful discussion about API scope with senior stakeholders in both businesses and support functions. You have coordinated or managed projects before and are able to make concepts visual to stakeholders and peers. You have experience in both gathering customer feedback and can give your expert judgement when refining requirements. You understand that integrations are where the details matter and can ask for more information where needed. As we are supporting a fast-paced global HR Digital Transformation, HR Portal and Virtual Assistant being key enablers to reach the targets of this transformation, you will need to be resilient towards changing requirements and be able to work under high expectations from the stakeholders.

The HR Platforms team works in a global setting and the selected person will be expected to interact with stakeholders, users and the community members globally. You embrace the agile ways of working and actively contribute to the feature breakdown and refinement.  In the team we value an open and collaborative mindset and expect everyone to work together. We share early, we give prompt feedback and critique, and perceive this as a means to reach our targets with a high-quality deliverable. The backlog items or tasks are not considered as work-orders, but as common goals, which we seek to solve together in a human-centric manner.

  • Adopt agile ways of working, focusing on timely delivery and quality
  • Have strong project management skills, certification seen as a plus
  • Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to independently reason logical interdependencies and suggest solution suggestions to both Product Owner and to stakeholders.
  • Experience of core HR processes is seen as a plus
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, supporting the employee experience.
  • Experience in integration design, implementing API as a service seen as a huge benefit
