We are looking for an On-Call Trainee, Corporate Tax and Legal, on an on-call basis, estimated 2 days per week.  The preferred location for this position is Helsinki, Finland. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work. As an On-Call Trainee, you can work up to 25 hours per week. The person who is selected for this role needs to be a full-time student studying for a degree in Finland.   
  
Your role and responsibilities:  
 
As a Trainee, Corporate Tax and Legal, you will assist our team with various tax and legal matters, focusing on income tax, transfer pricing, international tax matters and,  indirect tax, and other tasks of the Group Tax Team, as well as tasks of the Corporate & M&A Legal Team. Tasks may include tax analyses, communicating with the global tax community within Wärtsilä, document drafting and management (e.g., internal agreements), trade registry matters, data verification, archiving, and other office and administrative work in a truly international environment. You will probably start many of your tasks by checking from Google Maps where the relevant company is located as Wärtsilä has companies or branches in over 100 countries.

 

The best combination to succeed in this role:

 

  • Late phase Bachelor's or mid/late phase Master's level studies in Economics and Business Administration, Law, or a similar field
  • Interest in taxation and motivation to learn about income tax, transfer pricing, indirect tax and international taxation
  • Interest in getting an insight and participating in corporate legal work
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English and in Finnish or. Swedish language skill is a plus.
  • You should have some relevant previous work experience. Work experience in the field of taxation and/or law is a plus but not mandatory
  • Organized, focused, and proactive working style with a flexible and positive attitude
  • Experienced using various IT systems and tools, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is an advantage
