Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 USD annually

About the role
Wärtsilä Energy is looking for an Agreement Manager to join our Engine Power Plant Lifecycle Management team and lead the delivery of a new type of long-term Service Agreement in Ohio.
In this role, you will take ownership of the overall commercial, operational, and customer performance of the agreement, working closely with the customer, our site operations team, and Wärtsilä's technical and commercial experts.
This is an opportunity for an experienced energy professional who enjoys being close to the customer, understands power generation operations, and knows how to turn technical performance into measurable business value.
What you will be doing
As Agreement Manager, you will:
- Serve as the primary Wärtsilä contact and trusted advisor for the customer throughout the agreement lifecycle.
- Lead the overall commercial, financial, operational, and technical performance of the agreement.
- Work closely with customer and Wärtsilä operations teams to monitor plant performance and address operational or technical challenges.
- Conduct regular customer and service performance reviews, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, availability, efficiency, and profitability.
- Manage contractual obligations, performance guarantees, KPIs, risks, and opportunities.
- Identify and develop upsell, cross-sell, contract expansion, and renewal opportunities based on customer needs.
- Coordinate with technical, service, sales, and product teams to deliver solutions that create value for the customer.
- Support the transition from project delivery into long-term lifecycle support and ensure continuity throughout the agreement.
- Build strong, long-term customer relationships while protecting Wärtsilä's commercial interests and supporting sustainable business growth.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, or a related technical or scientific discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience managing long-term service agreements, performance-based contracts, customer accounts, or similar commercial responsibilities within power generation, energy, or the maritime industry.
- Experience working with performance guarantees, contractual KPIs, service agreements, and operational performance.
- Strong commercial understanding with the ability to manage contract performance, financial outcomes, risks, and business opportunities.
- Ability to translate technical and operational information into meaningful business value for customers.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across customer, operational, technical, and commercial teams.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with strong ownership and problem-solving skills.
Considered an advantage:
- Experience with outcome-based or performance-based service agreements.
- Experience with reciprocating engine power plants or other power generation assets.
- Knowledge of contractual and legal principles related to long-term service or energy agreements.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods. Paid time off (PTO) is WÄRTSILÄ NORTH AMERICA, INC. accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
