ES&O Commissioning Coordinator

Wartsila Energy Storage & Optimization is seeking a highly organized and proactive Commissioning Coordinator to join our team at Global Commissioning Management. As a Commissioning Coordinator, your main responsibilities will include assisting in the tracking of project commissioning schedules globally, creating resource plans for projects, and coordinating with area teams and third-party manpower companies for resource coordination. You will also support tracking third-party contractors’ quality, facilitate the creation of purchase orders for third-party contractors, and assist in employee onboarding processes.

Reporting and Work Location

• This position shall report to the Manager of Commissioning Team
• Location: US – Work from Home

Minimum Skills Requirements

• Education: Minimum Bachelors or master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 – 2 years experience with renewable energy (Solar Utility Scale) and/or Energy Storage System, Power System Design, Communication Network, and minor Software.

Job Specific Responsibilities

• Help track project commissioning schedules globally
• Create resource plans for projects
• Plan for resource substitutions as needed
• Vendor commissioning coordination (PCS, battery, fire suppression, etc…)
• Support resource coordination with area teams and 3rd party manpower companies
• Support performance tracking/review for 3rd party contractors
• Help track performance and development of the area and 3rd party participants
• Support tracking of commissioning progress
• Evaluate and benchmark the performance of area teams and 3rd party participants
• Keep list of area vendor resources
• PO creation for 3rd party contractors
• Support employee onboarding
• Coordinate with local HR for ACCDOM creation
• Laptop request
• Mobile phone and hotspot
• Tool kits and PPE
• Support site tool kits

Additional Job Requirements

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling successful coordination with cross-functional teams, third-party contractors, and vendors.
• Proficient in using project management tools and software.
• Knowledge of energy industry standards, commissioning processes, and safety protocols.
