Business Development & Proposal Sales Manager

 

 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & PROPOSAL SALES MANAGER

 

We are looking for a Business Development & Proposal Sales Manager t to join our dynamic, fast-paced Energy Storage and Battery Technology team. The desired location for this position is Herndon VA.

 

What will you be doing

 

As a Business Development & Proposal Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and training for the proposal management team and the global commercial proposal team.

 

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with focus on energy storage and battery technology and has 5+ years of relevant experience.

 

As a Business Development & Proposal Sales Manager,  you will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain tools, processes, templates, training plan for the proposal management team.
  • Be responsible for coordination with the global commercial proposal teams on tools, work instructions, templates and internal proposal development process that maximizes efficiency.
  • Be responsible for internal training coordination within the ES&O functional teams and proposal management team, as well as the Marketing team for alignment
  • You will motivate, engage, and maintain relationships internally and external to the ES&O organization
  • Work closely with the product team to develop/refine system sizing tool / performance optimization tools to support proposal development work.
  • Work closely with Salesforce Administrator to streamline the CRM tool, KPI and forecasting reporting (e.g., proposal activities, production planning, etc.)
  • Creation of CRM dashboards for data analysis and reporting.
  • Build, organize, manage, compile data, and perform internal audits to ensure quality, best practice and lessons learned (commercial & technical) to be implemented for continuous improvement.
  • Use existing tools and develop new methods to deliver standard and/or ad hoc reporting to support business reviews, and quarterly planning.
  • Proactively manage current projects with defined developmental tasks and maintain clear backlog of development projects supporting business development and proposal management teams.
  • Support proposal development to support efficiency, ability to scale, alignment with storage market requirements basis.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering field including energy storage and battery technologies
  • 5+ years' experience in process, tool development of related/relevant professional experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills 
  • Excellent attention to details and follow-through
  • Outstanding Salesforce.com reporting skill
  • Proven experience of working with battery technology and well versed in energy storage market is a plus!
  • Self-starter who perseveres to reach goals, even when faced with challenge
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) allowing for confident representation of the ES&O business.
  • Excellent diplomacy, integrity, and time management
  • Digitally adept in software like Microsoft Office, Salesforce, etc.
  • The ability to independently arrive at solution with limited direction, e.g. a self-starter
  • The commitment to deliver the results on tight timelines
  • Experience in change management, and the ability to engage audience and help end-users to adapt the change.
  • Strong communication skills combined with self-assertive attitude and the drive to continue improvement of business processes.
