Senior Manager, Construction & Commissioning Services, ESO Installation, US Location


We are looking for a Senior Manager to our recently established Construction and Commissioning Services,

ES&O Installation organisation in US location.


As a Senior Manager you will be accountable of managing Energy Storage projects construction &

installation resource requirements globally. You will gather the inputs of upcoming projects and related site

resource requirements from ES&O delivery- and project teams, coordinate assignments globally together

with Construction & Commissioning Services management team. You will build up ES&O installation

delivery capacity in US location by developing your own US based team further and by sourcing local US

based external site services vendors. In C&CS Finland location you will have ES&O Installation specific team

with a line manager reporting to you.


The ultimate goal of this position is to ensure mobile, on time and high-quality Energy Storage project site

resourcing services and successful projects handing overs.


You will be a member of the Construction and Commissioning Services Management Team, reporting

directly to the Department Director and in matrix to ES&O Project Management Director. The preferred

locations are in US: Houston (Primary) and Herndon.



• Plan and assign Installation & Construction resources for all Wärtsilä Energy Storage projects in US

• Develop collaboration with Energy Storage Project management and delivery team

• Lead and manage the team and employees towards goals

• Line manager duties of your own subordinates

• Create solutions and concepts for Energy Storage projects site resourcing

• Support the site personnel in work execution thru C&CS and ESO delivery organisation

• Ensure competence development within own team

• Monitor and report the status of site resources within ESO global deliveries

• Forecast site resources needs

• Team work and collaboration with Construction & Commissioning Services management team and Energy Storage Delivery team.

• Drive Wärtsilä Purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä values


Development responsibilities:

• ES&O delivery specific Construction management practises development together with C&CS site management- and ES&O Delivery team.

• People management, leadership & transparent feedback culture enhancement 

• Administrative documentation, practises and tools development



• Bachelor or Master’s degree, preferably in Electrical engineering

• Good understanding of construction and commissioning activities in renewable energy such as Solar PV and/or Energy Storage solutions.

• Earlier experience in talent sourcing in US
• Strategic mindset and scenario work, seeing the big picture and plan for the future

• Good analytical skills, as well as creative thinking and problem-solving skills

• Is able create clarity on direction, inspires people to take action towards the future goals

• Business minded and goal-oriented people, drives for results with excellent planning and execution skills

• Excellent stakeholder communication skills

• Fluent written and spoken English
