Accountabilities: 

  • For the global Energy Storage supplier base, the Sourcing Specialist, NPI is responsible for establishing the supply chain for the development of new products as part of the Energy Storage Strategic Sourcing and Product Development teams. The Sourcing Specialist, NPI supports research, technology, and new product programs to ensure timely and effective supplier selection, early supplier engagement and supplier compliance. He/She supports engineering with material inventory management and purchasing for NPI builds. Additional support of shipping and receiving functions pertaining to engineering builds and support of change control functions. He/She influences design concepts and specifications for purchased components to optimize quality, innovation, cost, manufacturability, component lifetime, and supply chain – all consistent with supply management strategies.
     

 

Main Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct supplier quoting, selection, and issue special builds purchase orders
  • Manage incoming NPI material ensuring proper disposition of received material
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting on all aspects of NPI material receipts.
  • Manage and monitor all product material cost impacts and changes
  • Track supplier communication, supplier compliance, cost, and schedules
  • Initiates the onboarding process for new Suppliers and ensures all appropriate system set-up is complete
  • Manage transition of parts from development to project execution and procurement.
  • Support development and implementation of the sourcing strategies to achieve lowest total cost, improve working capital, achieve on-time delivery, improve cycle time, and ensure early supplier involvement in product development
  • Support development and implementation of supplier contracts of suppliers selected for mass production
  • Identify and communicate internally any supplier concerns or opportunities. Support cost recovery initiatives
  • Support problem resolution discussions with suppliers and ensures the adequacy and timeliness of supplier correction action plans

 

 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience of purchasing, sourcing, supply chain or manufacturing with proven track record of results 
  • Knowledge of legal, financial and technology components of Strategic Sourcing
  • Strong communication & written skills a must
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong computer experience including; MS Office products, inventory management control and purchasing systems.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and mathematical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast pace, dynamic and changing environment.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English language
