We are looking for a Commercial Development Manager to join our dynamic, fast-pased regional operations team. The preferred location for this position is Houston TX.

 

What will you be doing

3-year dedication to GW Project with focus on Lifecycle Offering workstream working on W34SG/DF and W50SG/DF engines being deployed and applied in Balancer applications to create optimized and innovative Operation, Monitoring and Maintenance offerings for the marketplace as part of the full end-to-end value stream enhancement effort within the GW Project in the USA.

 

The ideal candidate has a Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Process Engineering and 10 years of power generation experience.

 

As a Commercial Development Manager, you will focus on these responsibilities:

 

Development of commercial and delivery concept models for:

  1. Short term 1-2 years: New lifecycle O&M sales model for the balancer application in USA market
    1. Develop commercial revenue model for performance-based balancer agreement
    2. Develop project CAPEX model for optimized OPEX, low VOM (Variable Operations and Maintenance) cost
    3. Coordinate efforts with Optimized Product Maintenance & Optimized Lifecycle Delivery Workstreams
    4. Interface and ensure central function Global teams are kept informed and supportive of development work being planned and completed
  2. Long term 3 years: Lean-manned and autonomous plant Operation & Monitoring
    1. Develop together with Houston Expertise Center technical process and procedures for the next generation O&M (lean manned/autonomous plant)
    2. Proposed AREA extended work stream member to WFI Power Systems and Control for the commercial modeling
    3. Identify requirements for strategic local vendors needed for the lean-manned and autonomous plant maintenance
      1. Together with Indirect Purchasing (IP) identify and establish the vendor network based on requirements
    4. Document and share lifecycle offering information to central function Global teams for integration into Global lifecycle offering database and offering catalogs

 

Main KPI’s:

  • One pilot project identified for the short-term objective in 2022
  • Conceptualized new GAP agreement for USA market balancer in 2023
  • 50% coverage of agreements in new Engine Power Plants sold in 2024

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

Requirements

  • Excellent English skills verbally and written

  • 7-10 years in the power generation market
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree, in electrical, industrial process or mechanical engineering
  • Contract management and lifecycle sales background
  • Strong legal & contractual understanding

 

Experience required:

  • Experience and exhibited successful record providing a focus on customer success and having the ability to effectively influence customer buying behavior
  • Power plant management (Contractual, operational, logistics, personnel management, etc.)
  • Quality Environmental Health & Safety (QEHS) processes in a power plant Operation & Maintenance (O&M) environment
  • Operations & Maintenance processes and procedures for Wärtsilä engine power plants
  • Technical experience with Wartsila 34SG/DF and Wartsila 50SG/DF engines
  • Technical understanding of power plant control dynamics and grid operation interfacing and integration
  • Ability to understand and ensure Cyber Security requirements in power plant operations per industry requirements, for example, NERC CIP compliance in the USA
  • Familiarity and proven track record using and providing accurate and frequent updates to Customer Relationship Managements (CRM) tools
